Jazz Club - April

Laurie Jacobs brings his sextet featuring saxophone, trumpet and guitar in the 'front line', with a fabulous rhythm section led by the superb pianist Rob Barron and also featuring top drummer Matt Skelton. The band promises to deliver high energy music to some well known standards and other great tunes from the golden period of jazz in the 1950's and 60's from the pen of the likes of Hank Mobley, Kenny Dorham and Sonny Rollins. With the line up of the sextet, there will be plenty of opportunity for all the musicians to showcase their respective instruments. 

Laurie Jacobs, based locally in Peterborough, has over the years played at many venues in and around Peterborough and Cambridge but has also performed at Dean Street Pizza Express, Soho Jazz Festival and St Ives Jazz Club (Cornwall) a number of times. Laurie also founded the highly rated Peterborough Jazz Club in 1992. …
